CATEMOL® 220-B (Behenamidopropyl Dimethylamine Behenate) is a versatile cosmetic ingredient renowned for its function as a cationic organic salt derived from behenic acid. This unique formulation includes a small amount of free behenic acid, allowing it to disperse readily in water and stabilize into a luxurious lotion. Its exceptional properties make it an effective dispersing agent for inorganic pigments, such as microfine titanium dioxide, particularly in water-in-oil (w/o) emulsions. Often incorporated in a range of formulations, CATEMOL® 220-B is ideal for hair conditioners—both leave-in and rinse-off—as well as conditioning shampoos, creams, lotions, aerosol/propellant systems, and lip care products, enhancing their texture and performance.
