PELEMOL® 3G22 (Polyglyceryl-3 Behenate) is a 100% active, solid, all-vegetable-derived monoester that elegantly combines behenic acid with polyglycerin-3. Each molecule features four unreacted, free hydroxyl groups at one end, contributing significant hydrophilicity, while the long C22 alkyl moiety imparts a behenate ester that enhances its emollient properties. This unique structure allows PELEMOL® 3G22 to function as a versatile, non-alkylene oxide emulsifier that is self-emulsifying. For example, a formulation with just 10% of PELEMOL® 3G22 in water can yield a stable, lotion-like water-in-oil emulsion, while increasing the concentration to 50% leads to a rich, cream-like emulsion. This ingredient is ideal for crafting luxurious skincare products that require exceptional texture and stability.
