PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil
RTD HC-40 (PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil) is a versatile high HLB surfactant renowned for its exceptional emulsifying and solubilizing capabilities. With a high HLB value of approximately 13, it is produced through the ethoxylation of hydrogenated Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, allowing it to function effectively as a nonionic oil-in-water (O/W) emulsifier. RTD HC-40 exhibits remarkable compatibility with various surfactants, including nonionic, cationic, and anionic types, making it suitable for use in a wide array of formulations—even those with high salinity, acidity, or alkalinity. Notably, it serves as an excellent solubilizer for fragrance oils and a co-emulsifier in creams and lotions, while also enhancing the gelling properties of low HLB emulsifiers in the creation of water-in-oil (W/O) micro-emulsions. Additionally, it acts as a lightweight, water-soluble emollient and conditioner, enriching shampoos, hair grooming products, and skin cleansers with its moisturizing benefits.
