Behentrimonium Methosulfate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol
Behentrimonium Methosulfate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol, often referred to as BTMS, is an exceptional emulsifier celebrated for its role in crafting high-quality hair care conditioning products. Derived from the Colza plant, BTMS is unique as a cationic quaternary compound, which carries a positive charge, setting it apart from most non-ionic emulsifiers. This characteristic allows BTMS to effectively bond with the negatively charged hair strands and neutral skin, providing long-lasting hydration and a silky smooth feel. Its remarkable ability to resist rinsing makes it ideal for leave-in conditioners and water-resistant lotions, while also enhancing lubricity and reducing friction for easier comb-outs and brushing. Gentle and effective, BTMS not only promotes a bouncy volume in hair but is also a fantastic choice for skin and body care formulations, especially when a light, non-greasy finish is desired. Plus, it is free from ethoxylated ingredients, making it a safe and appealing option for consumers.
