Glycolipids
ReNuva™ SL-A70, our “hero” Sophorolipid, is a COSMOS certified biolipid (INCI: Glycolipid) that functionally and clinically benefits cosmetic formulations. An amphiphilic structure and an industry low CMC (~10 mg/L), it’s a highly effective cleanser, emulsifier and solubilizer with an exceptionally low color and odor profile. In wash-off formulations (4-8%), SL-A70 provides medium foam structure and mild cleansing action that can effectively remove waterproof make-up. In leave-in systems, it can emulsify up to 40% oil creating a variety of emulsion types while boosting moisturization through its sugar-based polar head groups. Regardless of application, it’s a highly effective essential oil and fragrance solubilizer (1-5%) capable of competing head-to-head against a variety of chemically synthesized solubilizers including HCO 40/60, polysorbates or polyglyceryls.
